The students at Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah, much like the broader Dawoodi Bohra community to which they belong, hail from countries all over the world. Although unified by faith and cultural as well as religious traditions, Dawoodi Bohras are citizens of scores of different countries and are committed to the development and protection of the societies and nations they belong to. Aljamea’s senior most rector, al-Syed al-Ajal Syedi Maʾzūn Saheb Shahzada Qasim Bhaisaheb Hakimuddin, passed away in the early hours of the 20th of Rajab al-Asab, 5th April, 2018. Syedi Saheb was busy preparing for the first day of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah’s al-imtihān al-shafahī (viva voce examinations), which he had led for decades, expending even the very last moments of his life in the service of Aljamea.
Shahzada Abbas bhaisaheb Fakhruddin, son of the 51st al-Dāʿī al-Mutlaq Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA, brother to the late Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA, and rector of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah for over three decades, passed away Wednesday, 14th February in Mumbai.
