Shahzada Dr Qaidjoher Bhaisaheb Ezzuddin, rector of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah, attended an address given by the King of Jordan His Royal Highness King Abdullah II at New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhavan on the topic of ‘Islamic Heritage: Promoting Understanding and Moderation.
The event presided by His Excellency Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, was hosted by the Indian Islamic Cultural Centre (IICC) and was attended by leaders of various Indian Muslim communities leaders and prominent citizens. Shahzada Dr Qaidjoher Bhaisaheb, Aljamea’s rector, was present as representative of the leader of the wordlwide Dawoodi Bohra community, His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS and was seated as a chief guest on the stage with other Muslim leaders. During a brief meeting with the king, Shahzada invited His Highness to Mumbai and conveyed Syedna Saifuddin’s regards to His Highness as well as the Prime Minister. Administrators from Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah were also present at the event. Another rector of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah, Shahzada Dr Ja’far us Sadiq Bhaisaheb Imaduddin, is also associated to Jordan. Shahzada Imaduddin is a Senior Fellow of the The Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought which was founded “to serve Islam and humanity at large” headquartered in Amman. He and his brother Shahzada Taha Bhaisaheb Najmuddin, are also signatories of the Amman Message which is a declaration calling for tolerance and unity in the Muslim world that was issued by King Abdullah II of Jordan on 9 November, 2004 (27th of Ramadan, 1425 Hijri). The Prime Minister in his speech on the occasion expressed the importance of this Message and Declaration and his pride that Indian scholars were among its signatories.
