Faculty of Literature (Adab)

Among the Fatimi Arabic literary texts studied at Aljamea are the works of writers such as al-Syed al-Amīr al-Tamim, Syedna al-Muayyad al-Shirazi RA, Syedna Ali bin al-Maula Mohammed al-Walīd RA, Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA and Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA. An in-depth study of the corpus of Lisān al-Daʿwa literature and literary works of key authors such as Syedi Abdeʿali ʿImaduddin QR, Syedi Sadiqʿali Saheb QR and Syedi Luqmanjee Saheb QR are an integral part of the curriculum.

Notable poets of Arabic literature such as al-Mutanabbi, Ibn Hāni al-Andalusi, Sharif Raḍi and Ahmed Shawqī together with prominent poets of the English langauge comprise parts of the course.
