Students Secure Top Spots In Archery Competition

Three students from Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Karachi took part in a city level archery competition organised by Pakistan Customs at the Pakistan Customs ground. Twenty participants competed in the 18 metre professional category of the contest, which saw the 1st, 2nd and 4th position go to the three participants from Aljamea. The gold medal went to Murtaza Haidermota from standard 4, while the silver went to Mustafa Najmi from standard 8 and 4th position went to Moiz Haryanawala also from standard 4. [...]

Academic Writing Workshop in Aljamea Karachi

The Department of Dissertations in Aljamea Karachi organised an interactive academic research and writing workshop for the students of standard 8 and 9. Students are required to submit their extended Masters dissertation at the end of standard 10 and thereafter defend it in a viva voce debate, witnessed by the rectors, faculty and senior students of Aljamea in standard 11. 876 individuals commit the entire Holy Quran to memory

Alongside the examinations, the culmination of the academic year at Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah is known for the ceremony where new huffāz, individuals who have commited the entire Holy Quran to memory, are awarded their degrees after passing a series of oral and written tests. This year the award programme involved a procession where huffāz (sing. hāfiz) walked the main ceremonial avenue adjacent to Aljamea and collectively recited select verses from the Holy Quran before His Holiness and an audience of thousands of community members.
