Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony at Aljamea Nairobi

On Saturday, 23rd Jumada al-Ukhra, the auspicious day of the urs mubarak (death anniversary) of the 34th al-Dāʿī al-Mutlaq, al-Dāʿī al-Ajal Syedna Ismaʿil Badruddin RA, the annual prize distribution ceremony was held in the ceremonial hall of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah, Nairobi.

Taqsīm al-Jawāʾiz as it is known in Aljamea, is a much anticipated program by the students, as all the departments of Aljamea award students for their distinguished performance in different fields like academics, sports, vocational skills (computer skills, photography, videography, etc.), discipline and punctuality in adherence to the schedule and rules of Aljamea (namāz, tilāwat al-doʿāʾ, etc.) and many more.

The program was themed upon the date palm which was the focus of al-Dāʿī al-Ajal Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin's TUS sermon on the occasion of Nairobi Aljamea's inauguration in 1438H/2017. He had elaborated a detailed analogy of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah as a date palm sermon.

The program began with the recital of the panegyric composed by Syedna Mufaddal SaifuddinTUS on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, a tradition of the Du'at. This was followed by a light-hearted yet impactful skit organised by standard 11 students on the date palm and the lessons its unique qualities and descriptions found in Islamic lore and literature offer a student of Aljamea.

At regular intervals during the prize distribution, short films created by the students on various topics pertaining to a student's daily life in Aljamea were showcased as well. Towards the end, the best film was chosen by live polling and awarded.

The program ended with the announcement of the Tālib-e-Mithāli (Ideal student), which is, as its name suggests, a prestigious student award in Aljamea. For the current academic year, the award was given to M. Huzaifa M. Mohammed Ramgarh of Standard 10 and to Ruqaiyah M. Mansoor Ezzi of Standard 6.
