A Warm Welcome
Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah is the principal educational institute of the Dawoodi Bohra community. Its sole benefactor, His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS, oversees and guides it in all its endeavours. The academy has been functioning from its present campus in Surat, India for over two centuries with a sister campus inaugurated at Karachi, Pakistan in 1404/1983. A third campus was established in Nairobi in 1432/2011 with the official inauguration taking place in 1438/2017. The latest campus in Mumbai, where classes commenced in 1434/2013 in temporary settings, is under construction and awaits completion in the near future.
Our purpose at Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah is to provide young Dawoodi Bohra men and women with an education based on the principles of Fatimi philosophy. This philosophy encompasses tenets that have proven themselves over the centuries along with the best of what contemporary disciplines have to offer.
The eleven year programme covers higher secondary, undergraduate and graduate education. Although students specialise in select disciplines, our philosophy mandates that they acquire from and appreciate a wide spectrum of branches of knowledge. In this respect, students study a range of subjects within the empirical sciences, social sciences and the humanities, as well as select modern languages.
A QUEST FOR EXCELLENCE
For us, education is more than academics per se; it is a quest for excellence in all aspects of personality, imbibing morality as well as intellectuality. The fruition of the academy’s undertaking involves constant application of what is learnt, thereby bridging theory and practice.
Due to this philosophy, the academy is at once, ancient yet modern, focused yet holistic in its outlook. It is this applied philosophy that makes the academy unique. The current website has been prepared to help visitors understand the above mentioned philosophy and develop a greater appreciation of what it stands for.
